What’s the difference between Basic and Advanced Retouching?
Basic includes color correction, sharpness, contrast, eye bags, temporary blemishes, lessening wrinkles/lines, major stray hairs/lint, closing pores, plucking eyebrows (though you should be doing this yourself!!), and overall neatness of the photo.
Advanced includes adding/changing make-up, such as adding lip color or adding blush, whitening teeth, unreddening eyes, etc. Think of it as “elective” retouching, as opposed to necessary retouching.
But don’t casting directors want to see you natural?
Yes! Natural. But let’s not forget the “magic” element of this business! Actors and models are almost always made-up for gigs and print ads are almost always retouched. We won’t make you look unnatural or unlike yourself! What we do is rid you of those pimples that appeared the night before your shoot, lessen the damage under your eyes from too much work/partying and too little sleep, fix your stray hairs, and generally tweek your headshot for color, sharpness, and overall appearance.
